Social Media: linking the message and the people
Follow the link above to view a Prezi I created for an interview. The information presents ideas on how to effectively use social media to further an organization’s message.

The Commercial/Land Committee Chairman asked me to create an informational flyer to promote this speaking event. He wanted something to present the information regarding the event but also be eye catching. Using information he gave me and researching the speaker, I composed this informational flyer using Microsoft Word. I took the two graphics from the original booklet cover, and created this informational flyer. I chose the color scheme based on those graphics.
While discussing themes for the future association president, my former CEO and I worked out this theme. After agreeing on the words, “The Heart Makes the Deal,” I created a simple graphic to pitch the idea. Though the president decided on a different theme, this graphic and theme remains one of my favorites due to its simplicity.

I created these files using Microsoft Word during my internship with St. Mary’s Healthcare Foundation. The hospital departments split into teams to raise money. One of our team’s projects was a carnation sale. I created these flyers, order forms, table flyers, and name tags. Employees responded positively to the sale helping our team raise several hundred dollars.
10 Steps to Creating a Video with iMovie ’09
Follow the link above to a compilation of instructional videos regarding how to create a video with iMovie. I used video as the primary method of conveying these instructions because I thought it underscored the project’s purpose.

These are a set of written technical instructions to complement a video instruction set I created. I used Microsoft Word to produce these instructions. I included a written set of instructions for this project for those who could not easily follow the videos or had no access to audio. While the video stands as my primary method of instruction, the written instructions offer a great alternative.
Download a copy of my proposal.
As part of my technical writing course, I learned how to write proposals. I wrote this proposal for a class project. I used Adobe InDesign to design the document. While there are still improvements that can be made to this project, it shows that I am capable of writing and designing these types of documents.
I used Adobe InDesign to create this promotional flyer. Since the organization had a website, I chose to continue with their color scheme. I was intending this flyer for a college audience, so I tried to show how both parties (the mentor and the mentee) both benefit by adding the quotes from current mentors.
